CO-WY AMP Summer Research Initiative (SRI)

The Colorado-Wyoming Alliance for Minority Participation (CO-WY AMP) has developed the Summer Research Initiative (SRI) opportunity for students from both 2-year and 4-year institutions in order to integrate them into laboratories and research programs with direct mentor/professor supervision in both academic-year research as well as summer research enrichment programs. As part of the SRI, students are provided housing (some programs require living on the participating campus) and a stipend. CO-WY AMP has established relationships with most of the existing Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) programs in Colorado and Wyoming, as well as additional programs.  Please see the Summer Research Initiative Lab and REU Listing for eligible programs.

Because the SRI is only available to CO-WY AMP eligible students, it is a significant opportunity not afforded others and should be treated as a privilege to be selected. All students involved in CO-WY AMP’s SRI agree to participate in follow-up surveys in order to establish the effectiveness of programming. Any product (poster, presentation paper or material) must credit CO-WY AMP and its funding source, the National Science Foundation (HRD 1619673).

APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 15, 2019. Applications no longer accepted for summer 2019.

Applications for Summer 2020 will be available Fall 2019.
